Speech & Language Support for Vulnerable Young People - 3 Sessions
- Day 1 - Tuesday 24th September (all day)
- Day 2 - Tuesday 22nd October (all day)
- Day 3 - Tuesday 26th November (morning)
- This is a course for those of you working with vulnerable young people in primary or secondary in a variety of contexts who have speech, language and communication needs which can contribute to dysregulated behaviour.
- It will help you identify those with undiagnosed speech and language needs and provide essential strategies to help you to help them.
This evidence based course provides you with theoretical knowledge and an abundance of practical skills and ideas to support pupils with behaviour difficulties and those living or being educated in vulnerable contexts such as PRUs. It uses interactive teaching methods, practical activities, videos and group discussion to engage you and support your learning. This is an intensive 3 day programme and participants can gain a level 2 or level 3 qualification.
Each person taking the course will need to have the Elklan Language Builders for Vulnerable Young People book to support their learning. The LA will provide one book per school. https://elklan.co.uk/Shop/Language_Builders_for_Vulnerable_Young_People
Schools can fund their member of staff to be accredited at a cost of £72.50 per learner. Accredited staff will have weekly tasks to complete with a learning log that will need marking. The marking will be £90 per learning log, in total £162.50 per learner. There is an additional cost of £100 per candidate for participants from academies.
