The sessions aim to provide support, advice, guidance and bespoke training to assist you in championing the needs of Rochdale’s cared for children and removing barriers to learning

Edgar Wood Academy

This course will look at relevant Moving and Handling legislation and guidelines relating to safe moving and handling for staff who are undertaking these tasks with pupils.
N.B. This training is not about Positive Handling for CYP with behavioural difficulties.
Many Rochdale schools have children and young people who require assistance to move or equipment to facilitate personal care, mobility or postural management.
Participants to wear comfortable clothing and sensible footwear

It has a paediatric element meeting EYFS requirements
The new format includes one day online learning the theory followed by one day face to face practical training. This allows a knowledge of theory to be gained prior to practising
It also allows the theory session (online) to be done at your own leisure, in a place convenient for you whilst catering for differing learning styles.
On request we can issue Outdoor First Aid Qualification
