Supporting children’s vocabulary development

- Explore the importance of Vocabulary for learning, relationships and emotional wellbeing; and will look at why some children struggle with word learning
- Understand the three Tiers of Vocabulary and explore which to prioritise
- Explore strategies and techniques to support Vocabulary learning – as a targeted intervention and through universal provision

Alexis is a Speech and Language Therapist in addition to being a qualified teacher and SENCo. She has worked with children with additional needs for over 20 years. Alexis is passionate about supporting Primary aged children (KS1 & 2) with speech, language and communication challenges in mainstream schools.
