Statement of Competence Session: Leading Walking Groups in Lowland environments
- For those delegates needing to evidence competence to support a walking group in lowland terrain
- Discussion around remit and scope
- At the end of the session if deemed competent; you’ll leave with a statement of competence lasting 18months as a means to demonstrate competence whilst working under someone with an NGB
- Understanding the different types of supervision
Venues:
Theory session (AM) based from Highwood Centre (shared site with Whittaker Moss Primary), practical session (PM) based in and around the local valleys and hills.
Equipment:
Come prepared as you would for a day in the hills for the weather on the day; including day pack, spare layers, compass or digital aids, bring any medication you need and lunch.
