The session will be an in-depth look at the new weapons protocol for schools. A look at some case examples and to explore the offer to schools where knife / weapons incidents occur.
The day will be split in half and the other aspect is a look at the Threshold model implemented at EHASH and how we navigate it from a schools perspective we will also look at risk assessments and safety plans.
Each session will also provide the updates from the DSL network that has been cancelled on 23rd April.

BLANKs levels of questioning can be used to develop children’s language and reading comprehension skills.
Colourful semantics can provide support for children as they develop the ability speak and to write in sentences.

LGBT - training Intro to Trans and Non-Binary Identities - CANCELLED

Trans: non-binary: genderfluid and genderqueer: Have you heard these words before but felt too nervous to ask ‘what does that mean?’ Have you been unsure about where to get a clear explanation?
This module will build upon the basics in module one and go into greater detail about trans status: gender identities and expression.
You will gain an insight into legislation relating to gender and some of the challenges experienced by trans and non-binary people.
This module is useful those wanting to support a trans or non-binary friend: family member or colleague or upskill their knowledge for a professional context.
ELKLAN courses are designed to help support the communication skills of all children and young people - as well as those with identified speech, language and communication needs.
The training will consist of 10 half day sessions delivered by accredited teaching and learning advisers. Please see the attached for an overview of the sessions.
Each person taking the course will need to have the Elklan Language Builders 5-11s book to support their learning https://www.elklan.co.uk/resources/language-builders-series/language-builders. The LA will provide one book per school.
Schools can fund their member of staff to be accredited at a cost of £72.50 per learner. Accredited staff will have weekly tasks to complete with a learning log that will need marking. The marking will be £90 per learning log, in total £162.50 per learner
